How I Got Here -- Notes from the Matchmaker, Podcast Episode One
Nobody saw this coming. Including me.
I spent forty years in public policy, communications, and international development. I lived in Paris, twice. I spent over a year living in Botswana. I helped people who thought they had nothing in common find the common ground they did not know was there. Boardrooms. Stakeholder relations. Stratgic thinking. International negotiations. Conflict resolution.
It turns out that forty years spent helping people find common ground is exactly what matchmaking is. The skills transferred completely. The work is the same. Only the table is different.
In the first episode of Notes from the Matchmaker I talk about how I got here -- the career, the moves, a chapter of my life that changed everything, and what happened after. How I looked at everything I had built over a lifetime and asked myself what I could do with it on my own terms.
Wayward Hearts was the answer.
