Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions for Wayward Hearts Matchmaking Membership

1. Client Eligibility

Clients must be at least 25 years old. Clients must be single and genuinely seeking a long-term relationship. The matchmaker reserves the right to assess readiness for matchmaking and may determine that a client is not currently eligible if emotional, psychological, or other personal factors are likely to prevent a successful match.

2. Application and Fees

Clients must complete an application process, including a consultation to assess preferences and suitability. All clients must complete an initial video consultation before matchmaking services begin. In-person consultations may be available by arrangement at the matchmaker's discretion.

Matchmaking fees are non-refundable once the initial consultation is complete. Payment covers professional services rendered including assessment, consultation, match curation, and ongoing guidance. Payment must be made before matchmaking services begin.

Base matchmaking membership ($145 plus HST for three months) includes:

  • One 40-minute consultation

  • Specially designed compatibility questionnaire

  • Active searching throughout membership period

  • Introduction to compatible matches when available

  • Post-date follow-up communication

  • Reasonable ongoing email communication

Additional support services are available at additional cost:

  • Follow-up video consultation (30 minutes): $125 plus HST

  • Extended consultation (60 minutes): $250 plus HST

Additional services must be requested and paid for separately. They are not included in base membership fees.

Business Hours: Matchmaking services operate Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm AST. Video consultations may be scheduled outside these hours by arrangement. Response time to emails during business hours is typically within 24 to 48 hours.

3. Matchmaking Process, Client Suitability and Disclaimer

Initial Assessment: All clients must complete an initial video consultation or in-person meeting before matchmaking services begin. This consultation allows the matchmaker to assess compatibility, readiness, and suitability for the matchmaking process.

Process Expectations: Clients are expected to engage collaboratively with the matchmaking process as outlined in the Member Responsibilities and Process Expectations document, which is provided during onboarding.

Right to Decline or Terminate: The matchmaker reserves the right to decline or terminate matchmaking services at any time if:

(a) The client is determined to be unsuitable during the initial consultation

(b) The client exhibits disrespectful, argumentative, or uncooperative behavior

(c) Evidence suggests the client is not ready to engage respectfully with the matchmaking process or potential matches

(d) The client is unwilling to participate collaboratively in the matchmaking partnership

(e) The client refuses to provide requested information necessary for effective matching

(f) The client is non-responsive to match opportunities or communication

No Guarantee: The matchmaker does not guarantee or promise that a client will find a match or a long-term relationship. Matches are based on client preferences, compatibility assessments, and availability of suitable candidates. The success of the matchmaking process depends on both parties' willingness to engage authentically.

Services Rendered: Payment confirms commitment to the matchmaking process. Once the initial consultation is complete, all fees are considered payment for services rendered and are non-refundable, regardless of whether matches have been made or services are terminated due to client conduct.

4. Member Conduct and Readiness

Clients must treat potential matches with respect and engage in interactions in good faith.

Collaborative Partnership: Matchmaking requires respectful, open communication between client and matchmaker. Clients must engage constructively, accept professional guidance, and treat the matchmaker and all potential matches with respect. Failure to do so will result in immediate termination of services without refund.

Readiness Assessment: The matchmaker reserves the right to pause or terminate matchmaking services if a client exhibits behavior that suggests they are not emotionally or mentally ready for a meaningful relationship.

Examples of behavior indicating lack of readiness include:

  • Refusing to provide requested information for matching

  • Non-responsiveness to match opportunities

  • Unwillingness to engage with the collaborative process

  • Seeking therapy, validation, or guarantees rather than matchmaking services

  • Inability to trust the matchmaking process

  • Any harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior will result in immediate termination of matchmaking services without refund

5. Privacy and Confidentiality

Personal information will be kept confidential and used solely for matchmaking purposes. The matchmaker will not disclose client details to third parties without consent.

6. Liability

The matchmaker is not responsible for any personal interactions, disputes, or relationships formed through the service. Clients participate in matchmaking at their own risk and waive any claims against the matchmaker or business.

7. Membership Renewal and Termination

The matchmaker reserves the right to deny membership renewal if warranted, including cases of policy violations, inappropriate behavior, or lack of suitability for matchmaking at the time.

Clients may cancel their participation, but no refunds will be issued for unused matchmaking services. Fees paid cover professional services including consultation, assessment, match curation, and guidance. Once the initial consultation is complete, services are considered rendered and fees are non-refundable, even if membership is terminated due to unsuitability or conduct violations.

8. Modification and Cancellation

The matchmaker reserves the right to modify matchmaking processes, pricing, or discontinue services at any time. Clients will be notified of significant changes in advance.

9. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes related to matchmaking services must first go through negotiation and mediation. If unresolved, disputes will proceed to binding arbitration in accordance with Prince Edward Island laws.

10. Agreement to Terms

By signing up for matchmaking services, clients agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
